His Favorite Scenes of Geet:

Drashti in the Dargah Sequence
Drashti’s Entry During Kurbaan Hua
The Entire Wedding Sequence
During the Early Morning Shoot.

The opening sequence that was extremely hard to shoot as the shots needed to be captured during either dawn or dusk. We shot for two days, ten mins each in the morning and evening. It was challenging yet, came out perfectly.

Golden Temple Amritsar
Memories to carry forward: I have very fond memories of Geet and get emotional every time I think about it. Drashti is brilliant as an actor and the most dedicated one I have ever seen. We shot the Golden Temple sequence in the month of May. The temperature was almost 48 degrees and it was burning hot, making it impossible for any of us to stand on the hot marble for even a minute. However, Drashti walked on the floor without even complaining once. Hats off to that girl!

Fan Reactions to work: I have worked on many shows before, but it was only after Geet that people started walking up to me and telling me how much they loved my style of lighting. To me, the light and the set-up define any scene even before the actors and the dialogues come in. I feel thrilled when people notice the efforts that go into putting together a scene.

The best thing about Hrishikesh is that, you talk to him and you realise how emotionally attached he is to Geet, the Show. Despite working on two other shows that take up most of his time, he makes it a point to visit the sets of Geet to make sure he keeps his touch with the show intact.

The makers are as attached to the show as the fans associated with it, as to them it means waking up to a morning where they have no place to go to! With so many emotions to convey on screen, these creators have to live them each day. The end of a show surely means putting a grind halt to hoard of things that come along.

Hope you enjoyed today’s Geet Segment! We will be back soon with another as promised!

Few Good Men!!!

In a world where relationships to an extent are superficial and emotions are shallow, some of these fictional characters help us restore our faith and trust in Love and Commitment.

“Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.” ~ Unknown
When we think of ‘A Knight in Shining Armour,’ the one name that stands out distinctly in our minds is none other than Maan Singh Khurana of Geet Hui Sabse Parayi. The perfect Debonair with a heart of gold. “Tum Maan ki baahon mein ho Geet. Hawa ko bhi tum tak pahoochne ke liye meri ijazat leni hogi. Tum ghabrao mat.” For a woman these are just not mere words, but means of assurance that to someone she is the World. A woman can forgo every trauma in life if she can have a Man like Maan as her Mahi…her ‘Anchor.’ As much as we love Geet, we envy her for being blessed with a husband like Maan because being a Man’s wife is ordinary but being Maan’s Life is extra-ordinary.
“It is the heart that makes a man rich. He is rich according to what he is and not according to what he has.” ~ Henry Ward Beecher
Mujhe apne biwi par pura bharosa hai…these golden words saved Priya from getting humiliated in public because of Ashwin. Ram of Bade Acchey Lagte Hai may not be the man Priya had desired for, but today she must be proud to have him in her life. Ram might not be head over heals for Priya, but he definitely respects and trusts her. He has also stood up for her family as and when required. They may not be living like husband and wife but there is an unspoken bond, which binds them together. If there is trust and respect, love cannot be far away. Its not going to be long before Priya realizes that the voice she had once heard in the hotel rest room, sharing the void of his life and with whom she felt a connect instantly was none other than Ram.
“Life is a journey and love is what makes that journey worth while” ~ Unknown
Every girl has her own share of apprehensions when getting into an arrange marriage but Jeevika in Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai has been extremely fortunate to find a man like Viren. A lawyer by profession, Viren is not only practical and grounded but is sincere too. He is neither cynical nor oblivious to his surroundings and the people who matter to him. He values the emotions and sentiments of his loved ones and plays the balancing act effortlessly. Every girl desires that her man would understand her and her family without having to say much and Viren does that beautifully. He not only loves and trusts Jivika, but also honours her family. Marriage is not a destination, but the beginning of a new journey and with a companion like Viren one can surely hope that Jivika will always be able to overcome every obstacle in life.

“The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved – loved for ourselves, or rather loved inspite of ourselves.” ~ Victor Hugo
Raghuvendra Pratap Rathore of Uttran is a smart, intelligent, wealthy, and practical man who comes with an attitude that suggests, “don’t dare to mess with me.” However, it’s amazing how he falls in love with a woman like Tapasya and eventually wins her over. Tapasya who was rejected by her loved ones for all the wrong doings found acceptance in this complete stranger. It’s unbelievable to see Tapasya have a husband like Rathod who loves her with all he has even after knowing that she is responsible for losing their only child. A character like Rathore instills the faith that there are probably men out there who will love and accept you for who you are or inspite of who you are.
“We come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.” ~ Sam Keen
Jab hum pati patni hai toh hamari pareekshaye alag kaise ho sakti hai. Suraj of Diya aur Baati Hum does not belong to the above league of men, but still he is no less desirable. A man lacking in proper education and ambition is not what Sandhya dreamt of but destiny has bonded her with Suraj. Ever since their marriage, Suraj for no fault of his has time and again faced the wrath of Sandhya and each time made futile efforts to get to the truth. Even though Sandhya has not been able to accept this mismatch, Suraj on every occasion has extended his support towards her. He may not be highly qualified but he displays values and morals, which are difficult to find among the qualified class of men. It takes a lot of courage and patience to keep aside one’s Ego and tolerate the kind of denial and rejection that Sandhya put forth on their night of consummation. Suraj is a very simple hearted man whose happiness lies in the well-being of his family. By nature he is polite and a man of few words, yet he manages to read the pain behind Sandhya’s silence and makes repeated efforts to understand and comfort her. We hope that Sandhya soon understands and values the worthiness of this man who inspite of being her husband, never crossed the line of honour.
God may not shower us with what we WANT, but he always blesses us with what we NEED. Not all the men we discussed on Rangmunch today may be perfect or desired by their companion, yet when we look deep into their relationship, we soon realize they are the “made for each other couple.”

Rangmunch Diaries: Set-hopping Update – Day Four! Our Day Out with ‘Humse Hai Life’!

The excitement we felt while entering the sets of ‘Humse Hai Life’ has still not ebbed hours after we have left the place. From the second we stepped onto the sets, there was something or the other that kept us fascinated throughout. The sheer vibrancy of the set with generous splashes of Red, Green, White, and Yellow lifted our spirits few notches higher. We noticed that the room that has the boxing ring also boasts of a well-equipped gym. The thing that caught our eye the most was the Snapshots Begham & Badshah Cards adorning the doors of the Ladies & Gents Toilets on the sets respectively.

Before we continue, we would like to thank the Producers of the show, 4Lions, for inviting us to spend the whole day with them on the sets. It was a pleasure meeting one of the producers, Nissar Parvez, Director of the show, Gorky, and the Creative Head, Persis. A special thanks to the writer of the show, Hitesh Kewalya for coming to the set specially to meet the Rangmunch team.
Spending quality time with all of them gave us a better understanding of the show, its characters, and an insight into the various aspects of making a youth based show. The reason for choosing Channel V to air their show was the channel’s belief in their vision and the creative liberty given by them to execute that vision.
They also stated that Sia, the protagonist of the show, has several intriguing layers to her character that will each be revealed as the story progresses. Though the show is currently catering to the youth, we will soon get to see the storyline progressing to include parents and elders in the viewership fold.

We bumped into Himansh (Raghav) and Abigail (Sia) on the sets. We also had the pleasure of seeing the masters themselves weaving their magic right in front of us – Nissar Parvez was enacting the scene with Maan Singh while Gorky floored us completely by clicking working stills with our camera. We were also treated to a lavish lunch that we thoroughly relished. Overall, it was a memorable experience we wish to repeat in the near future.
Forthcoming Track: We hear that Raghav who has never ever said sorry to anyone in his life so far, finally says it to Sia for the first time. What is it that prompts him to apologize to Sia?

Watch this space for a detailed account of the precious information we gathered on the sets of ‘Humse Hai Life’.
